We started driving towards the sunset along the way
Darkness behind us, we were convinced we could stretch the day
We were young and reckless, out on the road
Just got our license, 16 years old
As if someone had told us there’s no weight on our shoulders

Weekly allowance filled the gas tank part the way
It’s didn’t get us far, but those were steps we never dared to take
We were all explorers, no maps in hand
Out in the open, discovering lands

Hearing the sounds of our own choice on the radio
Turned it all the way up, as loud as that thing would go
We were all excited. Singing along
Day turned turned to, and we were far from home
